Scavenger Hunt Rules:

  • Teams receive points for items scavenged. Each item, photo, or trivia question, has a point value. At the end of your hunt your points will be added up and a winner will be determined!
  • Items on your Hunt list should not be bought. (However bribes to strangers are allowed!) IE. If a pencil is on your list you should not run to CVS but bribing a stranger for one is A.O.K. This rule is primarily on the honor system but you’d be surprised how smart our judges are! Don’t abuse this rule! 
  • Teams are encourage to be creative when interpreting items listed on the Hunt sheet. IE. A picture of a Screwdriver could be a photo of the tool or the tasty OJ and Vodka based drink!
  • Teams WILL NEED A DIGITAL CAMERA to compete in the Hunt. Photo evidence is a big part of the shenanigans!
  • Teams must consist of at least 2 members. There are no maximum size limits.
  • At least one participant from each team must be 21 or older.
  • Teams should be prepared to spend a small amount of currency during the Hunt. ($5-$10) Remember cash is faster!
  • Teams may use electronic devices to help them in their Hunt! (smartphones, tablet computers, GPS, etc.)
  • Teams may call friends or others outside of their team for help locating items.
  • Hunters are not allowed to utilize private vehicles, taxis, bicycles, bikeshare bikes, rollerblades, or scooters, segways or any method of transit other than their own feet, Metro, Metrobus, and other public transportation.
  • Hunt DC withholds the right to add change or otherwise alter these rules to ensure a fun, fair, and friendly event!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Because of the unpredictable nature of last minute registrations and in order to encourage early checkin on the day of the event, Event T-Shirts will be given out on a First Come First Served basis. Players should arrive early to ensure they snag souvenir T-Shirt!
