Kubb (pronounced “koob”), also known as the Game of Vikings, is a fun Swedish outdoors game that plays like a cross between bocce ball and chess. Kubb is great for outdoor events, families, and social leagues. A game of dexterity and strategy, players toss sticks at different blocks to earn points. The object of Kubb is to knock over the king before your opponent does, but not before achieving your objectives. This little bit of strategy has earned the game the nickname “Viking Chess”.
United Social Sports will be using the event to kick-start their own Kubb League in the fall. Kubb leagues have been springing up all over the U.S., and have become a new favorite with sports and social clubs. League players will receive t-shirts and specials on food and drink during the season.
Bring your family and your friends for some excellent outdoor fun at Providence Park on June 23, at 1 PM! Learn the game of Kubb and play like a Viking! Register now at dc.kubb.com!
